We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and enthusiastic scholar to join a School committed to theoretically-informed, critical and multidisciplinary research and teaching. The School of Law enjoys an internationally recognised research profile and has grown significantly in recent years, including a successful expansion of our Criminology and Criminal Justice provision.The successful candidate will be required to contribute to the School’s Criminology programmes, in particular the BSc Criminology and Criminal Justice. We would welcome applications from those with expertise in the following areas: Policing; Race and Crime; Victimology; International Criminal Justice; Mental Health, Disability and Criminal Justice.
Candidates should have completed or be near to completion of a PhD (or equivalent qualification), and show evidence of published research or exceptional potential. All academic staff within the School of Law are required (subject to assigned duties) to contribute to teaching, scholarship and published research relating to both undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes.

This job is a full-time and permanent position.
The appointment will be at Lecturer A (Grade 7) – £34,650 per annum or Lecturer B (Grade 8) – £40,762 per annum.
The initial salary award will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment may be subject to a probationary period of up to three years. Annual leave is 25 days per year, plus an additional six days when the College is closed during the spring and winter breaks. This is in addition to the eight bank holidays.
