Job: Professor of Socio Legal Studies – University of Sussex (DL: 01.08)

Following recent success in its 50th anniversary year, the University’s new strategy “Making the Future 2013–18” outlines the key priorities and aims in further advancing a University of high quality, recognised for its contribution to the global academy and  human knowledge, with a size and scale to sustain its distinctive academic endeavour for the future.

With around 13,000 students (over 3,000 of whom are postgraduates) the University has students and staff from more than 120 countries and is ranked amongst the top 125 universities in the world according to the Times Higher Education World – University Rankings 2013-2014.

The School of Law, Politics and Sociology (LPS) has around 1,700 students and is characterised by outstanding interdisciplinary academic endeavour, not least in and through its research centres (the Centre for Gender Studies, the Sussex European Institute, the Sussex Centre for the Study of Corruption, and the Centre for Responsibilities, Rights and the Law).

As part of its continued rapid growth, the School of Law, Politics and Sociology now seeks to appoint a Professor of Socio Legal Studies.
