Job: Lecturer (above the bar) in Social Justice – University College Dublin (DL: 25.03)

The UCD School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Social Justice with expertise in the sociology of inequality and gender equality.

The successful candidate should have a strong record of conducting empirical research on these issues and will contribute teaching on the School’s graduate and undergraduate programmes. Specifically, the person will be required to: teach graduate courses in sociology of inequality and in gender equality; contribute to graduate training in research methods; contribute to the delivery of interdisciplinary undergraduate modules; and undertake supervision of graduate research students. S/he will also undertake empirical research, disseminate this research, engage in supervision of research, and carry out administrative functions.

Note: It is desirable that the successful candidate will commence in post on 1 August 2016.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
